Department Overview:

The Center for Demography and Ecology (CDE) and the Center for Demography of Health and Aging (CDHA are multi-disciplinary cooperations promoting demographic research and graduate training in the population sciences. CDE is funded by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child, Health, and Human Development, and CDHA is funded by the National Institute of Aging. Together they support research activities that span the full life course. CDHA and CDE enjoy a long-established collaboration with roughly half of affiliates having membership with both centers. The Social Sciences Research Services (SSRS) is the administrative home department of both centers, and SSRS provides research administrative services to all social science departments in the College of Letters and Science.

Qualifications:

- Proficiency (advanced) with Canva and WordPress
- Experience with short-form writing
- Proficiency in navigating social media platforms (Twitter/X, Bluesky, Instagram)
- Proficiency with Google Scholar and Excel
- Experience with citing scholarly products including articles, working papers, & abstracts
- Ability to work independently

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Attention to detail and nuance
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently
- Highly organized with the ability to build out tools to ensure accurate record keeping
- Maintain high standards of integrity and professional judgment when managing departmental social media and website content

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Primary duties for this position include supporting (1) the production of regular communication products across our website, social media, and digital products, (2) the growth of our accounts across campus and our communications and social media platforms, and (3) the continued development and upkeep of out affiliate publication archive.

Physical Demands:

Ability to work at a desk on a computer for several hours.
