Department Overview:
IvyRead is an educational startup focused on promoting English proficiency among English as Second Language students through the use of authentic leveled reading materials. The company was founded by Mr. Mi Yan, a Cornell alum and a former faculty member at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Schedule:
The instructors will teach online. Our students are around the globe. Applicants need to be able to work in the early mornings. Our major tutoring time is 6:00 am to 8:30 am CT. We will coordinate with you about the teaching time to find ones that work for both.

Qualifications:
Current UW-Madison student (Work-Study required). Major in English, Education, Journalism, Humanities, or related fields. Previous tutoring or teaching experience is a strong plus. Native English proficiency with excellent communication skills. Patient, energetic, and capable of working with younger students (K to G5). Reliable internet connection and a quiet teaching environment. Please include your resume in your application
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Training and lesson plans are provided. The experience of teaching English to young students is preferred.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Teach Online: Conduct 1-on-1 (or small group) English lessons via online meeting tool. Engage Students: Create a supportive and interactive learning environment to help students improve their reading comprehension, speaking, and critical thinking skills. Lesson Planning: Plan and customize lessons based on students' needs.
Physical Demands:
Ability to sit in front of a computer and camera for 40 minutes to conduct one teaching session.
