Department Overview:

The Marketing & Content team at Internera focuses on building and executing social media strategies, content creation, and digital marketing campaigns for a variety of clients across industries. This department works closely with business owners and internal teams to develop engaging content, grow online presence, and support branding and promotional initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Graphic Design, Business, or a related field
• Interest in social media, content creation, digital marketing, or branding
• Familiarity with Instagram and Facebook (posts, reels, stories, and business features)
• Strong written communication and creativity
• Comfortable creating photo and video content using a smartphone
• Experience with Canva, CapCut, or similar tools is a plus but not required
• Organized, self-motivated, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to manage deadlines and take initiative

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge:
• Basic understanding of social media platforms and their business use
• Awareness of current social media trends and digital content styles
• Understanding of branding and content consistency
• Familiarity with basic marketing concepts is helpful but not required
Skills:
• Strong written communication for captions and messaging
• Content creation (photo, video, short-form media)
• Time management and organization
• Creativity in developing engaging content ideas
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Abilities:
• Work independently while also collaborating with a team
• Adapt quickly to new tools, trends, and client needs
• Capture and edit content for social media platforms
• Communicate professionally with team members and clients when needed
• Represent brand tone and voice across different accounts

Position Summary/Job Duties:

The Social Media & Content Creation Intern will support Internera’s marketing team by creating, scheduling, and publishing content across multiple client accounts and internal projects. Responsibilities include capturing photo and video content, assisting with campaign execution, and helping maintain consistent branding across platforms.

Key responsibilities include:
• Create and publish content on Instagram and Facebook
• Capture photo and video content for reels, stories, and posts
• Assist in planning and executing social media campaigns
• Support multiple client accounts with tailored content creation
• Monitor engagement and identify trends or performance insights
• Collaborate with team members on content ideas and strategy
• Assist with event and promotional marketing when applicable
• Maintain organized content files and posting schedules

Physical Demands:

This role is primarily office-based with occasional on-site content creation at events or client locations. Interns should be comfortable:
• Standing or moving during content capture at events
• Using a smartphone for extended periods to film or photograph content
• Occasional light travel within Madison for content creation
• Working in fast-paced or event environments when needed
• Occasionally working evenings or weekends for scheduled events
