Department Overview:
The Center for Pre-Health Advising (CPHA) is a centralized resource for all UW-Madison students and alumni – no time limit – who are interested in pursuing careers in healthcare. Our primary advising expertise is supporting students to explore, prepare for, and apply to graduate level professional programs. We are here to support you — wherever you are on your path to serving others in healthcare. The Pre-Health Programming & Outreach Intern will work alongside colleagues in the Center for Pre-Health Advising (CPHA) to support key programs and outreach efforts. The position will assist the units with program support, assessment/evaluation, and priority setting, with an emphasis on sustainability over expansion.

Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled undergraduate students at UW-Madison - Commitment (or willingness to develop a commitment) to accessible and socially just pedagogies - Strong interest in developing and facilitating effective educational programming
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
- Interest of pre-health career pathways, professional development programming, and/or student engagement strategies within higher education settings. - Understanding of program planning, coordination, and evaluation processes, including developing summaries, reports, and recommendations for continuous improvement. - Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. - Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with supervisors, campus partners, and diverse student populations. - Ability to proactively identify priorities, take initiative, and work both independently and as part of a team. - Experience or demonstrated ability in event planning, outreach, and program promotion. - Analytical and critical thinking skills to support assessment efforts and enhance program effectiveness.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
- Proactively meet with supervisor and project partners to identify and address top priorities - Assist with program planning and ideating, e.g. Health Professions Shadowing Program, EMT Experience Program, Student Pre-Health Community, and other Pre-Health Professional Development Programming - Support the development of program/project summaries, reports, assessments, and recommendations for refining and enhancing programming, and outreach - Participate in events and/or committees as a representative of CPHA - Play an active role in fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment - Other duties and special projects related to office operations
