Department Overview:

The MBA and Master's programs at the Wisconsin School of Business manage the graduate business programs within the school. This position will be within the admissions and recruitment team and work to support all recruitment and application efforts completed within the office.

This position will be an in-person position with hours scheduled Monday-Friday during open office hours (8:00 am - 4:30 pm). Support may be needed during evening events.

Qualifications:

- Enrolled as a full-time student at UW-Madison
- Excellent written, visual, and interpersonal communication skills; with strong attention to detail
- The ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong skills in MS Office application, particularly Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Strong customer service skills
- Event coordination or management (preferred)

Essential to this position is strong problem solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment. Individuals who enjoy working with details, managing processes, and supporting a larger are good candidates. This position provides great opportunities to build a resume and develop skills in a professional setting.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

The student assistants work within a professional setting as a Wisconsin School of Business representative and informed ambassador of the Wisconsin MBA and Master's Programs, focusing on admissions and recruitment.

Reporting to the Director of Admissions and Recruitment, the student assistant will support the director by providing clerical, operations, event support, and other support as needed. The candidates must have excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, and a commitment to exceptional customer service. Additionally, the candidates will need to problem solve in a fast-paced work environment and feel comfortable interacting with prospective students, current students, faculty and staff of the MBA and Master's Programs.

Primary duties include:
- Provide frontline reception and serve as a lead for answering phone calls and greeting visitors
- Respond to emails and inquiries
- Help with the coordination of events, coordinating student ambassadors and creating materials for events
- Event support and follow-up with candidates, students, faculty and staff
- Management of admissions mailings
- Operations support including application and database management
- Other support as needed
