Department Overview:
Whether you’re showing up or showing off, there’s a team for you in intramural sports. Play alongside your friends, roommates, classmates, pledge class, or random strangers in a variety of sports and activities throughout the year. You get to pick the day and time that work for your team so you can still balance school, work, and everything else you have going on. All league winners receive a coveted champ shirt as well as campus bragging rights. No experience? No problem. We offer extensive training for officials of all sports!

Qualifications:
- Prior officiating experience is not necessary, but greatly appreciated. - Must be able to attend department-wide and program specific trainings.

- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and accuracy when completing job responsibilities. - Demonstrates the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others. - Demonstrates a genuine interest in and enthusiasm for sports. - Maintains a positive and enthusiastic approach to work and interactions with others.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
The Intramural Sports Departments, under University Recreation & Wellbeing, are comprised of over 40 league sports, tournaments, and special events offered each year by Intramural Sports, Intramural Sports offers students, faculty and staff the opportunity to participate in many sports and activities on a competitive and recreational level. The Intramural Sports Officials will help facilitate our sports offerings and ensure that participants are following rules of play. In this role you will: - Develop professional relationships with co-workers, members and guests. - Uphold and exceed the expectations of the Rec Well mission, vision, and values. - Promote and maintain cleanliness and appearance within and surrounding Rec Well facilities. - Take ownership of Rec Well facilities and programs by exhibiting a responsible work ethic. - Enforce Rec Well policies and procedures to promote participant safety and satisfaction. - Respond to all emergency situations and adhere to established protocol including pre and post- incident procedures. - Be knowledgeable and communicate all rules to participants. - Officiate play of intramural sports games and events and ensure participants adherence to the rules. - Keep score of game in accordance with the rules. - Report participant misconduct to Sports Supervisor. - Assist Sports Supervisor with set up or tear down of events or games.
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand for 2-3 hours, jogging as the game demands
