Department Overview:
SuccessWorks is the career center for UW–Madison’s College of Letters & Science, helping students explore possibilities, gain experience, and prepare for life after college. In addition to career advising, we connect students with employers and alumni, promote programs and opportunities, tell the stories of student and alumni success, and build support for SuccessWorks and its mission.

Schedule:
Weekly schedules typically occur during standard work hours (Mondays - Fridays between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm), with 2-3 shifts per week. Job duties will mainly be on-site.

Qualifications:
Enrolled student for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters (Graduate Students Preferred) Able to commit to a regular weekly schedule with availability within office hours.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Strong writing and editing skills Comfortable talking with students, alumni, and external partners and asking thoughtful questions Ability to adapt content for different audiences and formats Strong organization and ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines Willingness to learn, ask questions, and grow from feedback Ability to work collaboratively and take responsibility for assigned projects Experience with graphic design, email marketing, or social media is helpful but not required
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Interview L&S students and alumni and develop stories that show the impact of SuccessWorks Create and adapt content for student, alumni, donor, web, and social media audiences Identify strong stories and maintain a pipeline of content in development Support student-facing marketing that helps L&S students discover and engage with SuccessWorks Assist with basic graphic design, email campaigns, and other communications production using existing templates Support routine outreach to employers and other external partners and help maintain engagement data Contribute to other communications projects that support SuccessWorks’ mission
