Schedule:

 A 20-hour per week schedule will be established upon hire. The PA will be expected to work from Dr. Zoua Vang's MatCHES Lab at the School of Human Ecology.

Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:

 Minimum: $35.98 per hour

Qualifications:

 • PhD candidate
• Background in epidemiology, sociology, health geography, psychology, social work or another health related;
• strong writing skills;
• Attention to detail;
• Works well independently as well as with a team;
• Excellent interpersonal skills;

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Proficient in English (written and oral);
• Experience with qualitative research methods is a must;
• Experience with qualitative research software such as NVivo, Atlas.ti, or MAXQDA. (MAXQDA will be used for this project.);
• Experience with database management;
• Evidence of publication experience is desirable;

Position Summary/Job Duties:

• Assists in data collection efforts in research studies;
• Support data management and analysis;
• Supports research activities directly related to the research project such as literature reviews, grant preparation, scientific reports, and preparation of knowledge dissemination products;
• Accomplishes any other related tasks as required by the immediate supervisor.

Physical Demands:

This position requires computer-based work and the ability to listen to interview/focus group audio materials and convert them into accurate digital English documents.
Data analysis will need to be completed in-person on campus using a lab computer with a restricted research drive. Some writing work can be completed remotely when appropriate and needs to be discussed and negotiated with the supervisor.
