1. Willingness to learn new techniques and follow protocols carefully
2. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
3. Microscopy, imaging, or lab experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. Good organization for keeping track of samples, images and data
2. Ability to do repetitive tasks

Position Summary/Job Duties:

This position supports research on cranberry plant and fruit traits in lab and greenhouse management .

1. Scanning and photographing leaves and fruit using standardized protocols, and measuring size, shape and color with image analysis software.

2. Counting and weighing fruit, and recording data accurately in spreadsheets

3. Making stomatal imprints and imaging them under a light microscope

4. Dissecting cranberry roots and other tissues under a dissecting microscope

5. Organizing image files and data, and general lab and greenhouse upkeep

Physical Demands:

Sitting or standing for extended periods at a microscope or computer
