PEOPLE Summer Residential Mentor – 2026 summary: Residential Mentors will be responsible for supporting a group of PEOPLE precollege students (up to 18), ranging from rising high school sophomores through seniors, by providing college readiness mentorship, transportation, and social/emotional wellness. Part-time Residential Mentors will assist in supervising and participating in PEOPLE Summer University (PSU) activities/events. We have full-time (40 hours per week) and part-time (10-25 hours per week) positions available. Full-time positions will include housing.

PEOPLE Summer Program Residential Coordinator - 2026 summary: Residential Coordinators shall maintain a leadership role among peer staff and PEOPLE students in an active summer residential environment. The Residential Coordinators will support our residential programs for high school students. These students will experience college life and academics in a safe and supported environment, helping them to prepare for the college application process and college success. The Residential Coordinator oversees the day-to-day residential experience of these programs to ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for all participants and staff. They will take a lead role in resolving higher-level participant issues and ensure that all problems are promptly addressed. Reporting to the program leadership staff, this position supervises other residential staff and provides regular feedback about the residential staff and participants to full-time program leadership. This position conducts training for the residential staff before the start of the program and directly supervises them throughout its duration. This position works closely with other program staff to foster a campus environment of academic achievement and personal development and ensures the physical safety and comfort of all program participants.

AVID Tutor - Madison Metropolitan School District summary: AVID tutorials offer a collaborative environment in which students use the inquiry process and Socratic dialogue to address points of confusion from their content classes. AVID tutors support our AVID Elective students who are underrepresented in higher education, through the facilitation of the AVID 10-step tutorial process to ensure students are thinking critically and problem-solving using inquiry. Additionally, AVID tutors serve as role models for AVID Elective students.
AVID Tutors will work during the academic school day in one of MMSD’s four comprehensive high schools or one of our eleven middle schools which implement the AVID elective.
