Communications Intern (Office of Inclusion Education) summary: Communications interns support the Office of Inclusion Education’s social media outreach and marking efforts. They help tell the story of the office’s work and garner interest in events and educational opportunities.
Main duties include:
- Lead the office in marketing and outreach efforts.
- Develop and upload regular Instagram posts and reels to highlight the work and purpose of the office.
- Create a monthly calendar of office-led events for promotion purposes.
- Develop and send out monthly newsletters highlighting upcoming events and any office-related news.
- Attend weekly meetings with the direct supervisor and the other communications intern, and all intern gatherings (dates will be given in advance).
- Other tasks as assigned.
This position is for the full 25-26 academic year, with the potential to continue into the following academic year based on performance. |

Museum Guide summary: The Chazen seeks University of Wisconsin–Madison undergraduate and graduate students to form a small cohort of Museum Guides, which includes a mixture of University students and Madison community members.
Museum Guides actively support community and public learning within the Chazen’s newly restructured Engagement division. Reporting to the Chief Engagement Officer, Museum Guides develop and lead participatory tours of the Chazen’s special exhibitions and permanent collection galleries. These include a mixture of K-12 fieldtrips, University and community group visits, and drop-in public tours of the museum. Additionally, Museum Guides will conceptualize, research, and execute new tour and arts activities. Museums Guide will meaningfully participate in bi-weekly education team meetings and be invited to monthly Engagement division meetings. Overall, Museum Guides will strive to make all visitors and groups feel welcome and supported in their visit to the Chazen.
This paid opportunity offers a foundation in museum education and art-based pedagogies. Museum Guides will be exposed to and practiced in approaches for facilitating participatory discussions around art, as well as lesson planning, group management, and public speaking. Museum Guides will receive ongoing training and mentorship to support this work throughout the year.
