Bucky's Classroom Ambassador summary: MUST HAVE ONE YEAR ON CAMPUS BEFORE APPLYING! Bucky’s Classroom is hiring for UW students who want to engage with 7th graders around Wisconsin. Ambassadors work in teams to lead 60 - 90 minute sessions to share their UW experience and present college planning information in a fun, interactive way. The goal of the program is to help 7th grade students build a better understanding of college both academically and socially, gain knowledge about resources to help pay for college, explore possible career options and discover the importance of establishing a strong foundation for their future, rooted in education. Education majors and Wisconsin-based students highly encouraged to apply. |

Personal Training Mentee summary: The Mentorship Program coincides with the ACE Course and is designed to prepare participants for employment at Rec Well as a Personal Trainer. The time commitment for this program is approximately 32 hours total over 10 weeks (average of 3 hours/week). Mentees are Rec Well employees and are paid for their time during this program at a rate of $15/hour. The program includes being assigned a personal training mentor, attending two orientations and four workshops (biomechanics, assessment, programming, group training), a meeting with your mentor, shadowing three personal training sessions, performing three mock sessions (assessment, programing, and session), and attending five group fitness classes as a participant. Enrollment in the ACE course or working toward a NCCA accredited personal training certification is required for the Mentorship Program. |

Geospatial Technician summary: This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with geospatial data and tools. This position is based in a research lab focused on environmental remote sensing, with an emphasis on hyperspectral data and the quantification of plant functional traits. The student will work under the supervision of research scientists and postdoctoral researchers, contributing to projects that use geospatial tools to study vegetation and ecosystems. While the lab conducts research at regional, national, and global scales, the student’s work will primarily support local projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in image interpretation, data management, and geospatial analysis within a collaborative research environment.
