Laboratory Assistant summary: The Cellular and Molecular Arrhythmia Research Program (CMARP) Laboratory Assistant will be responsible for the general maintenance of the laboratory. This position is for a detail oriented and organized undergraduate student with the ability to work and communicate in a laboratory environment. Duties include stocking and distributing laboratory supplies, making buffers, washing and sterilizing glassware, and performing daily and weekly maintenance tasks to ensure the lab runs efficiently and effectively. The laboratory assistant will be expected to work during normal business hours until a period of training is completed, at which time some schedule flexibility will be allowed. While this position does not have the opportunity to participate in research, many CMARP laboratory assistants go on to obtain a research assistant position in one of the affiliated laboratories.
