The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will work in partnership with the MDs who oversee the inpatient clinical services for the interventional cardiology group. The NP will discharge patients from the Cath Lab each morning and round independently with the cath lab PA. The NP will then round on a portion of the clinical service either independently or in conjunction with the MDs. The NP will assess patients and collaborate with the physicians to implement the appropriate treatment and discharge plan.
Responsibilities
- Examine patients and summarize each patient’s condition to the physician.
- Review diagnostic testing results.
- Write progress notes for cath lab patients and co-sign discharge summary.
- Write progress notes on patients on clinical service, to be co-signed by MD after rounds.
- Respond to patient and family inquiries.
- Participate in the coordination of care meetings.
- Perform other activities as defined by patient need.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires Master's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus two years of experience.
- Prior cardiology experience is required.
- Current New York State NP and RN license .
- ANCC or AANPCB Board Certification.
- BCLS, DEA, NPI certifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (Spanish) helpful but not required.

- Participation in the medical surveillance program
- Contact with patients and/or human research subjects
- Wear N-95 respirator
- Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements
