The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
 

Position Summary

The Study Coordinator will be working with the Principal Investigator, Research faculty and staff to support a research program on the understanding and improvement of mental health among racially and ethnically minoritized families and those living in low resource communities. The program includes projects focusing on examining processes that are relevant for health among Latino, Black, and other racially or ethnically minoritized groups. Projects will involve working with pregnant women, parents, and their children assessing the relationship between parental experiences and children’s behavioral and neurodevelopment. Responsibilities include tasks related to program operation as well as specific research studies. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating recruitment efforts and ongoing engagement activities, administering assessments, and conducting interviews. Candidate will have the ability to manage competing priorities, attention to detail, excellent, organizational and communication skills are essential. Fluency in Spanish required. Evening and weekend work required.


Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the engagement, recruitment, scheduling, and retention efforts of a subset of study participants. Utilizing study tracking methods and databases (Accurint, REDCap) to ensure participant scheduling and completion of activities according to approved study design and visit orchestration.
  • Completing study procedures to include but not limited to interviews, assessments, biospecimen collection both remotely and during field/in-person visits.
  • With guidance from Principal Investigator and Director(s), assist with the development and preparation of study protocols and training material and provide training and staff support as requested.
  • Communicating milestones effectively and presenting study reports as requested.
  • Utilizing milestone metrics and field experience, taking an active role with providing recommendations to address study operation challenges when applicable.
  • Tasks also include attending weekly team meetings and routine communication with the other study teams, with study collaborating agencies and stakeholders and with study co-investigators.
  • Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, public health or related field or equivalent in education and experience required; 2 years related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year of coordination experience and related experience in child's mental health assessments, structured interviewing, and field recruitment.
  • Availability for overnight travel within and outside NYS.
  • Drivers preferred.

Other Requirements

  • Must successfully complete all only systems training requirements.
  • A successful candidate will have at least 1 year of experience working with marginalized communities to include fieldwork/outreach experience.
  • Ability to travel within the tri-state area to complete study procedures at participant residence.
  • Fluency in Spanish is required as position requires community outreach work.
