The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
 

Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Principal Investigator of Medical Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry, Marisa Spann, the Laboratory Manager will be responsible for assuming effective administration and lab management, maintaining operational excellence within the division.  The incumbent will be responsible for interacting with internal and external collaborators to carry out a range of functions to fully support the PI and lab members with various functions not limited to fiscal and administrative support, laboratory planning and maintenance, purchasing, environmental health & safety, etc.


Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor all grants-oversee and approve all expenditures to ensure appropriate spending of grant funds.
  • Arrange meetings of study partners to facilitate the preparation of studies involving a community and/or other laboratory partners.
  • Manage division needs by interfacing with administration to support laboratory necessities (purchasing, inventory maintenance, serve as vendor liaison, capital equipment maintenance, etc).
  • Clinical supervision for studies by performing regular audits to ensure that the data collected are complete and accurate.
  • Supervise, mentor and develop staff to maintain workplace procedures and optimize efficiency with general office/lab functions.
  • Perform other duties as required/assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and 3 years of related experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a research or medical related industry.
  • 2-3 years of managing a staff of at least 5 individuals.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, superior detail-orientation and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, coordinate multiple projects with competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience with medical record systems.
  • Clinical assessments and proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
