Position Summary

The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Data Analyst ll to join our team in a full time position within the division of Gastroenterology. Columbia University Irving Medical Center’s Department of Pediatrics is a world leader in providing care for children. Our mission areas include Healthcare, Education and Research. We also have several active Clinical trials available to our patients. This position will support the department by providing data analyses to our Pediatric Weight Management Program.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee quality control and formulate action plans over the processes involved in data source, data merging and cleaning for multiple projects within the research program.
  • Provide input and oversight on the proper statistical methodology and data presentation for students and other trainees within the research program.
  • Develop integrated database solutions to store and retrieve information relevant to the research needs for the Pediatric Weight Management Program.
  • Conduct statistical programming for regular and meaningful data analytics to support epidemiologic and health services research.
  • Assure that data are appropriate for data analyses by merging and cleaning data from regular data pulls, deriving appropriate variables, linking datasets, and developing analysis datasets.
  • Attend and present data updates at regular data and operational meetings and provide regular reports on study subject accrual, data completeness, and preliminary analyses.
  • Collaborate with PhD-level biostatisticians to assure appropriate modeling techniques and accuracy of programs.
  • Prepare monitoring reports, preliminary analyses, and final analyses for abstracts and manuscripts.
  • Review all analysis programs done by investigators to ensure accuracy and consistency across analyses.
  • Maintain a positive relationship and maintain clear communication with the study team, clinical staff, and administrators
  • Attend study team meetings and trainings.
  • Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus three years of related experience.
