Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Optimization & User Support, the Revenue Cycle Reporting Manager is responsible for converting operational data into comprehensive and concise user reports in support of Revenue Cycle operations for the Department of Anesthesiology. Translates stakeholders’ requirements into reporting deliverables. Assists billing team with dashboards and report generation with an emphasis on standardization and automation. Identifies critical issues and focuses on resolution. Proactively builds and develops problem audit reports. Subject to business needs, we may support flexible and hybrid work arrangements. Responsibilities
- Coordinates the development of ad hoc user reports to target denials, performs deep dive analysis to reduce controllable rejections and prepares reports for submission of payer projects
- Applies knowledge of coding, including use of billable CPTs, diagnosis codes, modifiers, place of service codes and other claim codes to perform in depth analysis of payer root cause issues
- Helps to identify data elements required to produce meaningful reports
- Translates business requirements into technical reporting solutions
- Responsible for data validation and provides support for data questions and issues
- Collaborates closely with peers to develop, validate, and maintain meaningful report sets; recommends and implements best practices within the department
- Reviews reports to determine basic characteristics such as origin, format, frequency, distribution, and purpose/function of report
- Confers with stakeholders’ receiving reports to identify problems and to gather suggestions for improvements in data elements and report presentation
- Extracts, collates, and refines data from one or more sources including Epic, Experian, and Cognos
- Validates, analyzes data, and prepares reports in acceptable or requested format including Excel and other practice management systems for presentation to the requesting party
- Recommends and implement report enhancements that improve the management of various aspects of the revenue cycle
- Assists in the analysis of reviewing trends for edits that trigger due to billing, coding, charge entry
in the different Epic work queues
- Generates reports to closely monitor work queues to aid in issues that are preventing coding and steady stream of revenue
- Assists the Director in working with EpicTogether IT team to identify logic issues and open cases as needed
- Participates in training and other in-service sessions for end user education
- Participates in billing office and FPO data centered meetings and delivers presentations as needed
- Performs additional related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education experience plus four years of related work experience.
- Working knowledge of CPT codes, diagnosis codes, and billing claim logic
- Must possess strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Knowledge of Epic, Experian and Cognos is a plus
- Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Client service oriented with the ability to develop productive working relationships with various stakeholders
- Strong work ethic with the ability to manage multiple priorities along with a strong desire to be an actively engaged team member
- Ability to use good judgment in handling confidential data
