Position Summary

The Physical therapist is completely responsible for providing functional and exercise oriented physical therapy treatments to their patients and manage and supervise the aides who are providing treatment and working with their patients. This is a per diem position and reports to the Director of Physical Therapy.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain a full patient case load and manage patient schedule
  • Formulate complete problem-based treatment programs
  • Maintain complete, thorough and accurate daily notes for each visit including cancellations and no-shows
  • Monitor patient visits and updated prescriptions for authorization compliance
  • Produce evaluation, follow-up and discharge letters to the referring physician in a timely fashion
  • Update and progress treatment programs regularly as appropriate
  • Supervise patients at all times
  • Oversee the aide(s) working with the patients
  • Complete notes into computerized notes system in a timely fashion
  • Complete at least one continuing education course per year and present in-service
  • Maintain the highest levels of ethics and professionalism at all times
  • Maintain open communication with all staff and physicians
  • Must be flexible with location, hours and days and may include Saturday
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Physical Therapy
  • Current New York State License
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4 years of clinical experience
