Position Summary
The School of Nursing is searching for a Project Manager with experience managing a research division and to provide support for federally funded projects focusing on HIV prevention and management.
Responsibilities
The Project Manager will be responsible for formulating and conducting research studies and analyses.
Other specific responsibilities will include:
- Performing complex data collection and study methods, as well as analyzing and evaluating research results.
- Overseeing data entry, management and cleaning of survey data as well as other large existing national data sets.
- Managing a hybrid research team comprised of research coordinators, research associates, and student or non-student research workers to meet established team objectives and/or goals.
- Guiding, training and managing the day-to-day activities of research coordinators, research associates and graduate student research assistants (GRAs) or part-time research assistants.
- Ensuring compliance with all federal and university requirements, including developing and submitting of Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols, modifications and renewals.
- Assisting the Principal Investigator in dissemination activities and overseeing the coordination of grant applications and manuscript submissions.
- Reviewing and synthesizing research literature & analytics.
- Monitoring project developments, including proposing and implementing changes as needed.
- Providing regular updates and reports on study data to stakeholders.
- Coordinating interviews and follow-up appointments.
- Managing of team meetings for investigators.
- Collaborating with community partners associated with the studies, other partnering departments and institutions.
- Performing other related duties and participating in special projects as assigned.
This is a grant-funded position and employment is contingent upon continued grant funding.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education, training and experience plus four (4) years of related experience.
- Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suites (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
- Must also have analytical experience in the following: SPSS, Access, developing codebooks, developing databases, basic statistical analyses and maneuvering notepads for data collection.
- Successful incumbent must have experience in health-related research as well as experience in collecting clinical data.
- Experience with REDCap and Qualtrics will also be necessary for this role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with in-person and remote team management.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and superb written and oral communication skills are a must for this role.
- Successful incumbent will have the ability to work in a team setting with minimal supervision and must be able to set priorities while handling multiple tasks.
