The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Production Manager of Printing Services, the Manager - Print Services serves on the staff of Print Services. The Manager is an integral part of Print Services with oversight of satellite Print units. Duties include managing /coordinating the Digital and Offset production work accepted at all Print units including but not limited to graphic design, typesetting, scanning, copying, binding faxing and concept to print resolution.
Responsibilities
- Meeting with customers to consult and assist with high end Offset printing requirements of the departments while reducing unnecessary outsourcing.
- Manages the proofing process with customers for work processed through Print production units.
- Coordinates with other staff to track all work between the Print production units.
- Document those jobs are marked completed and ensures that all aspects of a customer’s job are delivered and billed upon job delivery.
- Provide additional customer service support as necessary, including handling phone calls, responding to customer questions, managing the counter, process customer billing, etc.
- Produces reports as requested by supervision.
- Performs other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in business and/or its equivalent in business or a related area is required.
- 3-5 years related experience in the handling of jobs in a printing/mailing operation preferably in a university or not-for-profit setting.
- Experience in both digital and offset print practices a must.
- Previous experience in a large volume printing service industry is a plus.
- Should be detail oriented; possess excellent customer service skills, including familiarity with all computer applications including Adobe In-Design, Illustrator, Photoshop, Quark, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Publisher. A solid knowledge of graphic design is a must.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with management at all levels are required
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-3 years supervision of staff preferred.
