The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary

As a member of the Digital Strategy team and reporting to the Associate Vice President of Digital Strategy, the Data Manager administers and maintains the technical architecture of the Office of Public Affairs Marketing Cloud implementation. The Data Manager should have excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills and be able to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.


Responsibilities

  • Review and approval of calendaring scheduling (across Participating Offices/Depts)
  • Management and preparation of system fields and leading data sync through Marketing Cloud Connect (migrations, integrations)
  • Liaising with CUIT and the Salesforce Senior Systems Administrator as needed
  • Monitor data quality and integrity
  • Make data-driven decisions to optimize solutions for business units
  • Review and approval of content and calendaring for emails targeted to broad University audiences
  • Provide technical support to Public Affairs and other offices on Marketing Cloud for managing changes and projects and issue resolution
  • Manage subscriber data, including contact model and Data Extensions
  • Manage User Setup and Roles (Profiles)
  • Manage Preference Centers
  • Manage audience segmentation
  • Design and implement customer journeys and automations using Journey Builder and Automation Studio
  • Develop relevant reports and dashboards
  • Spearhead user management and training
  • University Data Governance Committee
  • Application Governance

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 4-6 years of Marketing Cloud experience, including Community Cloud and Journey Builder
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Certifications, including Email Specialist and Marketing Cloud Administrator
  • Proficiency in HTML, AMPscript, and SQL
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and marketing and communications
  • Demonstrative success with Marketing Cloud integration projects
  • Experience integrating Marketing Cloud with other applications via real-time, batch, sync/async
  • Expert knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • Extensive knowledge of SQL and AMPscript

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Java, JavaScript, and SOAP
  • Experience using Salesforce data tools (Data Loader, Excel Connector, DemandTools, Eclipse Force.com IDE)
  • Experience with scripted data loader, web services, cloud or on-premise middleware, and other enterprise-integrating technologies
  • Experience in a development setting within higher education
