Position Summary
Project STAY (Services to Assist Youth), a program of the Harlem Health Promotion Center within the
Department of Sociomedical Sciences at the Mailman School of Public Health, is seeking a Project Coordinator
to assist us in providing outreach, education, STI/HIV testing and linkage to care services for high-risk youth at
community venues (schools, CBO’s, bars, pop-up events such as annual PRIDE) in New York City.
The Project Coordinator would report to the Director of Outreach and would be responsible for the following
duties:
-Identify and maintain contact with community sites serving high-risk youth, spearhead new LGBTQ serving
community partners as well as represent Project STAY at community meetings
-Recruit, train, and supervise health educators
-Manage monthly outreach and testing schedules
-Prepare periodic reports for community partners and funders
-Assist in data management
-Design and manage content including social media and print material promoting Project STAY services
-Assist with management of peer outreach
-Assist grant writing team in identifying and responding to corporate and foundation grant opportunities
Responsibilities
Recruit, train, and supervise health educators 20%
Schedule outreach events with community partner organizations 20%

Identify and maintain contact with community sites serving high-risk youth, spearhead new LGBTQ serving community partners as well as represent program at community meetings 10%

Provide individual risk-assessment and counseling, HIV/STI screening to at-risk populations at our community partner sites throughout NYC 5%
Assist in preparing reports for funders, agencies and professional audience as well as assist with grant writing by identifying and assist with response to grant opportunities 5%
Perform other duties as required 5%
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience plus three years of related experience
Must be able to work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Must have strong leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
Degree preferred: MPH or the equivalent, Spanish speaking, knowledge of community-based programming.
At least 1 year of experience in working with adolescents and young adults
At least 1 year of experience in providing sexual and reproductive health education and/or related services
Strong foundation in the development and implementation of social media content on multiple platforms
(Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
Knowledge of computer software programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, RedCap, Qualtrics & Web design) and on-line organizational software a plus
