The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
 

Position Summary

The mission of The Eugene Lang Entrepreneurship Center is to instill entrepreneurial thinking in all Columbia Business School students and to create a community of business practitioners with a lifelong commitment to achieving social and economic progress through innovation. Columbia’s approach to developing the entrepreneurial mindset is both broad and deep. Entrepreneurship is integrated throughout the MBA curriculum, crossing all disciplines and touching all students. For students interested in launching or investing in ventures, the School offers a comprehensive program of specialized courses, co-curricular programs, events, and other resources.

The Associate Director, Programming reports to the Senior Associate Director and is responsible for curriculum planning and managing student and alumni co-curricular programming.


Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Senior Associate Director, carries out curriculum strategy, and assists in the planning and supporting of Lang Center courses and faculty as needed. 

  • Working with relevant team members, manages co-curricular programs for students and alumni, coordinating between stakeholders and overseeing the timely execution and successful implementation of program components.

  • Supports communication platforms such as the Lang website, brochures, one-pagers, newsletters, donor reports, etc., assisting with the overall marketing and content strategy of the Center in support of programming initiatives.

  • Develops and manages the day-to-day execution of special initiatives supporting students and alumni, such as the discount program, the CBS gift guide, etc.
  • Manages additional tasks as appropriate, such as programming success metrics and accounts payable functions needed to provide back up for the AP Manager.

  • Tracks success and outcomes on programs including post-program surveys, and responsible for implementing optimizations based on feedback.

  • Contributes as a pro-active team member to additional projects with other staff as needed.  

  • Performs additional tasks as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or its equivalent required.  Minimum 3 years related experience required. 

  • Must have excellent organizational skills and a detail-orientation. Must have strong written, visual, and oral communication skills. Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Must be able to work independently and under pressure, managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to manage multiple projects with changing deadlines. High level of professionalism needed. Tact, diplomacy, and the ability to exercise discretion and judgment in matters that are sensitive and confidential is required. General interest in and eagerness to learn about the startup/investor ecosystem and culture.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Graphic design skills and familiarity with adobe programs are a plus.
