The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
 

Position Summary

The Division of Ethics in the Department of Medical Humanities and Ethics seeks a full-time Program Coordinator to work with the Division Chief and a multi-disciplinary team to support the Columbia Division of Ethics, the national Center for ELSI Resources and Analysis (CERA) and to organize the biennial international ELSI Congress.  Place of work will be in the Division of Ethics in the Department of Medical Humanities and Ethics, housed in Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons at Columbia University.


Responsibilities

  • Project management of three or more speaker series to include programming, speaker outreach, scheduling, planning meetings, arranging for closed captioning, Zoom management, video recording, editing, and posting.
  • Manage room scheduling, catering, and A/V for in-person and hybrid events.
  • Development and project management of new initiatives in the Division of Ethics.
  • Engage scholars, scientists and other experts to participate in ethics programming.
  • Support the planning and implementation of national conferences.
  • Develop and manage outreach programs and community engagement activities,
  • Support social media, newsletters, webinars, and all other outreach activities.
  • Collaborate with teams in multi-institutional partnerships.
  • Perform administrative duties, including scheduling meetings, managing meeting minutes and agendas, and email correspondence.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience required; plus 3 years related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least three years of prior administration and program experience.
  • Master’s degree in the policy, social sciences, public health or related field is preferred. 
  • Candidates should have outstanding collaboration, organizational, and communication skills, including experience with implementing programs.
