The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
Position gathers pre-treatment patient data, monitors patient and medications during procedures, maintains prescription drug logs and provides assistance to the clinical team during pre and post procedure activities.
Responsibilities
- Provides ongoing patient information to the interventionist and clinical team during procedures to deliver care to the patient including but not limited to cardiac monitoring, Aldrete score, pain status. Monitor patient vitals (HR, BP, O2Sat, EKG), and scrubbing during procedures.
- Assist in recovery room patient care following procedure.
- Gather patient clinical information prior to procedures including patient assessments and patient history.
- Maintain up-to-date narcotic drug log.
- Maintain clear and accurate patient medical records.
- Responsible for the completion and recording of patient's history and physical examination, ordering appropriate tests; formulating a plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition and under the supervision of the surgeon.
- Develop and provide patient education and discharge instructions, including ongoing efforts to further streamline a pre- and post-operative education program that fosters patient care, research, quality and education.
- Responsible for the initiation of initial and subsequent office evaluation of patients referred to the division, assess patients for postoperative visits, based on the established practice of the surgeons and coordinate multidisciplinary care of patients with other specialties as required.
- Assist with obtaining and maintaining the AAAASF accreditation for the department.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and 4yrs related experience.
Other Requirements
- Valid New York State RN license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Ability to communicate effectively with multicultural and language-deficit patients.
- Fluent in the written and verbal skills necessary to successfully perform the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities of the position.
- Knowledge of medical terminology strongly preferred.
- Must be able to adapt to a growing and changing environment.
