The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary

The Information Technology Project Manager will assist IT department heads with the collaboration and strategic planning of all Mailman School of Public Health’s IT projects and will be essential in collaborating with stakeholders to define project objectives and develop comprehensive plans. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, monitoring progress, and addressing issues to ensure project success. Strong stakeholder management skills are essential, requiring the establishment of robust relationships and adaptive communication for various audiences. Proactively identifying and addressing project risks, implementing effective mitigation strategies, and ensuring the development and delivery of high-quality project deliverables are integral aspects of this role. Additionally, the ITPM will be responsible for managing project budgets, tracking expenditures, and providing regular financial reports to senior management.


Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Execution:

       - Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

       - Ensure the successful execution of IT projects from initiation to completion.

     

  • Team Leadership & Collaboration:

       - Work with cross-functional project teams, fostering collaboration and effective communication.

       - Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule.

     

  • Risk Management:

       - Identify and mitigate potential project risks, ensuring initiative-taking problem-solving.

       - Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as needed.

     

  • Stakeholder Communication:

       - Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders, providing regular project updates.

       - Address and resolve stakeholder concerns in a timely and effective manner.

     

  • Quality Assurance:

       - Oversee project deliverables to ensure they meet quality standards and align with project goals.

       - Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement.

     

  • Financial Reporting & Budget Management:

       - Manage project budgets, track expenses and ensure cost-effectiveness.

       - Provide financial reports and updates to senior management as needed.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Project Management or equivalent in education and experience plus 3 years of experience.
  • Proven experience as an IT Project Manager, managing projects from initiation to completion.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, software development, and infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Great adaptability, interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP or relevant certification.
