The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
Under the Adminsitrative Director, the Census Coordinator will be a critical part of the billing team. The CC will conduct Census audits for both RFID and Traditional cage cards, audit upload, reconciliation. The will provide RFID cage cards, occupancy reports, account management, and ensure accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Organize and conduct the RFID census collection for all animals housed at Columbia University. Upload audits when entire building is completed. Work cohesively to develop, adjust and fine tune census managemnt strategies and implementation. Train Lead Husbandry Technicians to maintain consitancy in census collection when absent.
- Reconcile census audit records and maintain accurate census of all animals. Create Reports monthly and upon request.
- Maintains proper chartstring distributions for census collection/allocations. Work closly with ICM billing team to ensure smooth month end closing process. Primary investigator for all billing inquires.
- Confirms proper RFID cage card placement and updated Black box for each room.
- Processes cage card requests for accuracy, prints requested cards, provides them in the appropriate room.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and two years of related experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- AALAS certification preferred.
- Candidate should be proficient in census management, including protocol monitoring and animal order practice management.
- Candidate should have understanding of animal science accounting and ability to use complex information systems.
- Must demonstrate proficiency in Excel and ARC systems.
- Candidate must have strong written and oral communication, along with detailed reporting abilities.
