Position Summary
The Department of Radiation Oncology at Columbia University Irving Medical center has an opening for an immuno-oncology technician B to start March 1st, 2024. The position seeks candidates with prior laboratory experience, ideally with a focus on immuno-oncology. Specifically, we are seeking candidates experienced with experimental techniques including tissue culture, flow cytometry, cytokine profiling along with other core molecular biology techniques (PCR, western blots, ELISA, etc.).
Our laboratory leverages murine tumor models to conduct mechanistic study. The successful candidate will have experience working with mice or be willing to learn. The position offers exciting opportunities to learn sophisticated high-parametric immunologic assays, including high-parametric flow cytometry (CyTEK Arora), quantitative multi-plex immunofluorescence (qmIF), RNA Scope, and single cell RNAseq (scRNASeq).
Responsibilities
- Work with leading oncologists and translational/basic scientists at the intersection of oncology, tumor immunology, and systems biology.
- Support both preclinical studies and translational projects leveraging fresh human tissue for mechanistic study.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology or physics or a completed animal husbandry program or equivalent in education, training and experience.
- Knowledge of various related laboratory procedures and techniques preferred.
- One year of related experience preferred.
- Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
