The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
Research Manager is a professional who oversees and coordinates the execution of clinical research studies and trials. These trials are conducted to evaluate the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of new medical treatments, drugs, devices, or interventions. Research managers play a vital role in ensuring that clinical trials are conducted ethically, safely, and in compliance with regulatory guidelines. This position supervises clinical research coordinators and ensures accountability to Cardiology Research guidance documents and standard operating procedures. Applies critical thinking and creative critical thinking skills across a wide variety of clinical studies. Develops processes, procedures, tools, and training to enhance clinical research activities. May conduct quality assurance audits and is able to identify noncompliance concerns, assess cause, create corrective action plans, and implement independently under supervision from the Director, Chief and the Division Administrator.

Responsibilities
The Research Manager will formally assume responsibility for the following tasks:
- Identifies potential study participants; screens potential participants to determine eligibility.
- Completes case request forms and data entry as necessary.
- Assists and directs team to prepare for external site monitoring visits; responsible for successful completion of audits and FDA reviews.
- Develops quality assurance and quality improvement processes for research team members.
- Works with division leadership to manage research coordinator and analytics staff members.
- Oversee team expansion, including assisting with writing job descriptions, screening of candidates, interviewing, and managing the on-boarding of new hires.
- Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience required; plus, four years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in public health, health care administration, or related area.
- 2-5 years relevant experience (can be before or during Masters training) as a project manager, research administrator, research manager, or related field.
- Want to work as a member of a mission-driven team.
- Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills with the desire to grow as a member of the team.
- Strong organizational, time management, and attention to detail skills.
- Familiarity with research administration or management.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
