The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
 

Position Summary

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Program Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the HICCC Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion serving as a liaison between the DEI office and other components of the center and supporting the center leadership to enhance diversity in the cancer workforce across all stages. Working closely with the Associate and Assistant Directors for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, the Program Manager will manage DEI-related programs within the cancer center and support partnerships with DEI offices at Columbia University.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as liaison between the DEI office and HICCC Offices for Community Outreach and Engagement and Cancer Research Education and Training, as well as with the HICCC’s Research Programs.
  • Work with HICCC leadership to enhance diversity in the cancer workforce across all stages.
  • Develop and institute capacity-building strategies for HICCC member and stakeholder engagement in DEI.
  • Oversee adherence to office timelines.
  • Organize and oversee the coordination of DEI events, training, workshops, affinity groups, and outreach across Columbia.
  • Assist with the preparation of grant applications and reports.
  • Assist with administrative issues regarding programming, reimbursements, tracking, announcements, RSVPs for events.
  • Coordinate DEI-related seminars and symposiums and assist with scheduling speakers.
  • Oversee coordination of DEI office meetings (both Zoom and in-person).
  • Oversee race/ethnicity survey to HICCC full members, analyze and graph data as needed by the DEI office.
  • Assist with the management of project budgets. This includes tracking expenses and planning for appropriate and cost-effective resource allocation.
  • Manage internal and external DEI-related communications across existing HICCC channels.
  • Assist with the management of large HICCC-wide events (Annual Symposium).
  • Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience plus four (4) years of related experience.

Other Requirements

  • Previous experience in research administration. and experience with DEI programming.
  • Mentoring and outreach experience.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English).

  • Master or doctoral degree in education-related field.
