The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
 

Position Summary

In this position, one will contribute to cutting-edge research studying rare mutations in the immune system that cause severe disease in humans. Working semi-independently with close mentorship and a collaborative team, a technician will conduct various immunology and genetics experiments. Opportunities available to learn advanced skills and interface with the medical school.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain working environment in the laboratory; order supplies as needed; prepare necessary reagents.
  • Conduct human immunology experiments using the following techniques: 
    • cell culture
    • patient blood processing
    • western blotting
    • flow cytometry
    • immunofluorescence microscopy
    • RNA isolation
    • quantitative PCR
    • molecular cloning
    • CRISPR genome editing
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data, including the use of Microsoft Excel, graphing software and technique-specific programs.
  • Maintain excellent record keeping and written communication via E-mail.
  • Assist in the preparation of manuscripts and figures for publication and presentation.
  • Collaborate in groups to complete joint projects.
  • Comply with all CU training and compliances as required.
  • Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.  

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in science or related field.
  • 1 to 2 years of related research laboratory experience.
  • Minimum 2-year commitment.
