The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary
The Research Manager oversees research projects within a department or division. This individual assists the Principal Investigator (PI) in preparing and negotiating lab/bench research projects, budgets, pre-post-award grants management, and may assist with staffing needs.

Responsibilities
- Collaborated with members of the research team in project development and the planning and delivery of optimal lab operations.
- Arranges for the availability of human and material resources to facilitate positive outcomes for assigned research projects.
- Participates in the development and implementation of ongoing quality improvement activities as per policies and protocols.
- Identifies, responds to, and, if necessary, escalates potential and actual risk management issues.
- In collaboration with the Dept HR will be responsible for human resources, including recruitment, hiring, evaluating, retention, discipline and termination.
- Develops and maintains systems which support efficient and effective functioning of designated clinical areas.
- In collaboration with the Dept Research Administration team, will be responsible for managing pre-post award grants if applicable to specific research program.
- Comply with all CU training and compliances as required.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested by PI and/or Division Administrator.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience required; plus four years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in sciences or related degree as preferred.
- 5 years in a hospital/medical/research environment.
Other Requirements
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
