Position Summary

The Systems Administrator reports to the Associate Director of Technology Services in the Dean’s Office at the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science. The incumbent provides planning and technical support for the implementation, installation, configuration, security, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, and networking in a diverse computing environment.


Responsibilities

  • (35%) Provide technical support for service requests and incidents received via a ticketing system or email, over the phone, or in person.

  • (35%) Manage hardware and software in a Windows and Mac environment that includes imaging, installing, configuring, upgrading, updating, patching, deploying endpoints (laptops, desktops, printers, phones, and mobile devices) and securely disposing of endpoints. Maintain an inventory list of endpoints. Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for adoption.

  • (15%) Provide A/V support for events and classes.

  • (10%) Write and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and how-to guides.

  • (5%) Performs related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field; minimum of 2-4 years of related experience

  • Must have strong knowledge in troubleshooting, networking, and security.

  • Must have the ability to learn quickly.

  • Must be reliable and meticulous.

  • Must have good customer service skills.

  • Physical ability to maneuver and lift computers, printers, and other equipment.
