Position Summary
The University Honors Program offers several 2-credit Honors Seminar throughout the academic year. These classes meet once weekly for 110 minutes and are intended for students of all majors. All Honors students are required to take two of these courses in order to graduate with Honors.
The topics explored in these seminars are diverse; they are expected to explore engaging themes that provide students with additional intellectual breadth and a thought-provoking break from intensive studies in a major.

These classes are offered in all quarters except summer, and we hire on a rolling basis.
Essential Functions
- Meet with students for 110 minutes per week for one quarter
- Deliver an Honors-level learning experience on a subject approved by Honors Council.

- Expertise in the field of study
- Record of excellent teaching
Required Qualifications
- MA in a relevant discipline
Preferred qualifications
- PhD in a relevant discipline
Work Schedule
While the University's administrative offices are open Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, faculty schedules vary from term to term and are based on courses taught, service commitments, and research agendas. The University's academic calendars are posted on the registrar's website (the law school is on a semester system and has a different academic calendar).

- Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period of time
- Ability to deliver lectures and facilitate a class for 2 hours per week

Course Rate
The classes are taught as faculty overload and provide faculty compensation of $2,386 per 2-credit seminar.
The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
