The University of Denver Sturm College of Law (Denver Law) is a nationally ranked leader in experiential learning, with Top 20 programs in legal writing, clinical training, trial advocacy, and tax law. Position Summary
The University of Denver Sturm College of Law seeks applications from full-time members of its faculty to serve as the Director of its Corporate and Commercial Law Program (“Program”), which focuses on advancing research, teaching, and external engagement in the realm of business law.
The successful candidate would be expected to begin in November 2024. The term of the position is two years, with the possibility of renewal for a third year upon mutual agreement.
Essential Functions
In collaboration with the Dean, the Executive Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, affiliated faculty, and relevant staff members, the Director will:
- Develop, articulate, and advance a strategic vision for the Program;
- Lead and manage the Program and its associated academic certificate;
- Collaborate with the Executive Associate Dean for Academic Affairs regarding ongoing enhancements to the Program’s curricular offerings;
- Plan an appropriate slate of programmatic activities, including lectures, workshops, inter-school competitions, and other events;
- Engage with students on matters relating to their professional development in the field of business law;
- Manage an external advisory board composed of influential experts in the field;
- Work closely with the Dean and the Executive Director of Development to secure additional programmatic resources through support from individuals, law firms, corporations, foundations, and other potential institutional and individual supporters; and
- Undertake initiatives designed to enhance the stature, visibility, and impact of the Program.

Required Qualifications
- Full-time faculty member at the Sturm College of Law
- J.D. and/or Ph.D. degrees (or their equivalents)
- Expertise in the field of business law
- A commitment to inclusive pedagogy

Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

The salary grade for the position is UC.
Salary Range:
The salary rate for this position is $10,000.
