Position Summary

The University of Denver Sturm College of Law seeks applications from full-time members of its faculty to serve as the Co-Director of the University of Denver’s Executive Certificate in Affordable Housing Program, a collaboration between the Rocky Mountain Land Use Institute at the Sturm College of Law and the Burns School of Real Estate & Construction Management at the Daniels College of Business. The Program is designed to train real estate professionals, developers, planners, policy makers, attorneys, civic leaders, housing advocates, property managers, architects, lenders, and others on topics relating to affordable housing development and in the practical skills necessary to work in this specialized and rapidly evolving sector. The term of the position extends to June 30, 2027.

Essential Functions

In collaboration with their fellow Co-Director, the Co-Director will undertake the following principal responsibilities:

  • Co-manage the Executive Certificate in Affordable Housing Program;
  • Collaborate with their fellow Co-Director on matters relating to curricular design;
  • Play a co-leadership role in faculty recruitment, selection, and management;
  • Undertake programmatic marketing and recruitment;
  • Organize in-person residencies associated with the Program;
  • Work to raise funding to support scholarships and programmatic priorities;
  • Undertake programmatic evaluation and review; and
  • Oversee matters relating to student success and management

Required Qualifications

  • Full-time faculty member at the Sturm College of Law
  • J.D. and/or Ph.D. degrees (or their equivalents)
  • Expertise in the field of affordable housing

Working Environment

  • Standard office environment.
  • Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high.
  • Noise level is quiet to moderate.

Physical Activities

  • Ability to work in front of a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to move about the office/campus.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Salary Grade Number

The salary grade for the position is UC.

Compensation

The compensation for this position is $12,000 annually.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
