About the role
We are looking for passionate, community minded people to become part of our Learn to Swim team. Unqualified and qualified applications encouraged.

Our Learn to swim officers work across our Centers - Splashdown, Leisurelink, Norlane ARC, Bellarine Aquatic and Sports Centre, Lara and Kardina Aquatic Centre - You will be responsible for delivering effective swimming and water safety to students in our Learn to Swim program.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan and conduct Learn to Swim classes
  • Provide assessment reports of students and monitor progress
  • Provide excellent customer service to swim school students and parents
  • Provide regular feedback to students and parents on their progress
  • Maintain compliance with current Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have;

Essential Experience:

  • A passion for Swimming & teaching
  • Swim teacher qualification
  • A current employee Working with Children check.
  • A willingness to undertake medical and functional assessments, as well as a police check
  • Current CPR certificate.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be flexible to meet the demands of the Leisure Centres. The position may involve morning, evening, and weekend work.
    This role will be guided by Royal Life Society Australia (RLSSA) Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations, City of Greater Geelong and Swim Sport and Leisure policy and procedures.
  • Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a pre-employment medical assessment as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
