About the role
In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out a broad range of tasks and duties to ensure the Centre operates efficiently and effectively. This includes resource recovery attendant duties, site maintenance and cleaning, and plant operation. This position is Monday to Friday.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operate and maintain plant and equipment in an effective and efficient manner to Council’s standards and in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Accurately record client information and waste product information.
- Undertake maintenance and cleaning activities to ensure the Landfill & Recovery Resource Centre is a safe environment.
- Ensure only wastes permitted on the licence are accepted to be deposed on site.
- Assist in the delivery of minor projects.
- Work within all Council health and safety policies and wear and use the appropriate personal protective and safety equipment provided.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience in the operation and maintenance of various plant and equipment in an effective and efficient manner.
Essential Experience:
- Certificate of Competency in using the plant equipment for landfill operations, waste disposal, recycling and other associated tasks.
- Backhoe competency required.
- Customer service
- Heavy Rigid (HR) truck licence
- Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a pre-employment medical assessment as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
