About the role
The City of Greater Geelong is looking for a talented Change Analyst to join our Change Management team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the success of various organisational programs and projects by managing key change activities. You will focus on impact and readiness assessments, gap analysis, stakeholder analysis, and training needs, to enable programs and projects to achieve the desired outcomes.
You will utilise change management tools to navigate the project complexities, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment across multiple initiatives.
Work type: Permanent full-time
Classification: Band 7 $100,064 - $110,990 pa plus super
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct and manage impact and readiness assessments to inform change management plans and ensure successful program outcomes.
- Maintain and manage a master stakeholder register to identify risks and inform communication and engagement plans.
- Develop and deliver presentations and materials to inform and educate key stakeholders on change activities.
- Coordinate and administrate training plans, scheduling, and readiness assessments for key program initiatives.
- Provide timely communications, escalations, and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Manage and prepare training needs analyses and plans to achieve desired future-state outcomes.
- Monitor and report on feedback loops such as lessons learned, pulse checks, and post-implementation reviews.
- Support change-related communications by contributing to the design and planning of narratives and materials.
- Model and promote the City’s values in all duties.
- Adhere to Council’s policies and procedures, performing other duties as required.
About you
We’re looking for a motivated and experienced Change Analyst who thrives in complex environments with competing priorities. To succeed in this role, you will have a strong background in organisational change, a passion for transformation, and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multiple projects.
Qualifications:
- Degree in a relevant field with post-graduate qualifications or equivalent experience.
- Change management certification (e.g., Prosci) is highly desirable.
Essential:
- Demonstrated experience as a change analyst within large, organisation-wide transformation programs.
- Proven experience managing major workplace changes, including process re-engineering, system implementations, and service redesign.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build cooperative relationships at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrated in large change programs.
- Effective team collaboration skills and the ability to contribute to high-functioning teams.
Desirable:
- Experience in developing and delivering training materials.
- Familiarity with local government or public sector environments.
Skills and Knowledge
- High competency in managing organisation-wide change programs with interdependent and competing priorities.
- Ability to deliver successful change projects, including process re-engineering and system implementations.
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills in addressing complex change management challenges.
- Advanced skills in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and database systems for data and information analysis.
