About the Role: We are seeking a dynamic Project Manager – Service Reviews to join our Corporate Services team at the City of Greater Geelong. In this pivotal role, you will facilitate, support, and drive continuous improvement for service reviews across the organisation. Your focus will be on ensuring that service reviews align with the City's Service Review Framework and Project Management Framework, enabling robust decision-making by the Executive Leadership Team and Council. As the subject matter expert for the service review program, you will support and advise project teams, ensuring effective delivery and stakeholder engagement.
Work type: 2 years fixed term - full-time
Classification: Band 8 $115,035 - $127,911 pa plus super
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Manager Corporate PMO in delivering the City’s service review program according to the Service Review Framework.
- Facilitate the development of scope, objectives, milestones, and deliverables for each service review.
- Lead end-to-end service reviews, including project management, stakeholder communication, risk and issue management, and quality assurance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of a preferred supplier list for service review delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement of the Service Review Framework, roadmap, and service review processes.
- Champion Council Values in all aspects of your work, acting as an ambassador for the Corporate PMO.
- Adhere to Council policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with risk management and OH&S requirements.
Key Skills Required:
Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary qualification or significant project management/PMO experience.
Essential Skills:
- Experience in project management within local government or the public sector.
- Strong working knowledge of PMBOK, Prince2, and Agile methodologies.
- Proven experience managing projects with complex stakeholder impacts.
- Advanced conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills in a challenging stakeholder environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build partnerships across all organisational levels.
- Effective people leadership skills to foster high-performing, engaged teams.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines while working independently or as part of a team.
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with local government service planning and service reviews.
- Experience in creating and managing budgets, policies, and project management tools.
