About the role
In this role, you will lead the implementation of our Strategic Workforce Planning Framework, shaping the workforce and organisational capability of the future. Partnering with People and Culture, Strategy and Performance, Financial Services, and our Leadership Team, you’ll ensure we have the right talent, in the right place, at the right time. You’ll also play a key role in driving change and supporting outcomes from service reviews and planning initiatives.

Classification: Band 8 $118,486 - $131,749 pa plus super
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with Strategy and Performance, People Partners and People Shared Services to consult to the business on and execute the Strategic Workforce Planning Framework in alignment with Service Planning.
- Ensure the Strategic Workforce Plan(s) incorporate future requirements, scenario planning, workforce capability and headcount gap analyses, succession planning, workforce development and talent acquisition needs.
- Provide advice into the development of a fit-for-purpose and future focused Organisation Capability Framework to enable the City to deliver on it’s strategic roadmap.
- Facilitate innovation and best practice approach in the department and push the boundaries of what is possible in delivering services for customer and community satisfaction.
- Support the team to deliver on the strategic goals, by implementing solutions that make the goals accessible and relevant for operational success.
- Use benchmarking data to support scenario planning, forecasting, analysis and reporting with the People Analytics Partner.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have a Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Commerce/Business, Organisation Psychology plus relevant post-graduate qualifications, or an equivalent combination of formal training and experience.
Essential Experience:
- Sound commercial/business experience and experience developing and implementing innovative and sound Workforce Plans in a transformational environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and proven internal and/or external consulting experience in Workforce Planning and preferably with some knowledge of Change Management, Remuneration, Job sizing, Organisation Architecture and/or Organisation Design.
- Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills, with proven ability to monitor and analyse trends and make recommendations.
- Well developed interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build effective relationships, influence and communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders to achieve support and deliver desired outcomes.
- Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
