About the role:
In this role, you will oversee the City’s waste services contracts including residential kerbside waste collection, hard waste and mattress collection and processing and recovery of kerbside recycling. You will also be supported by a team to implement the new state-wide standardised kerbside waste collection system.

Classification: Band 7 Commencing at $103,066 pa plus super

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and delivering effective contract management of the waste services contracts and associated activities.  
  • Providing quality customer service and supporting team to resolve service delivery issues within City’s residential waste services and its contractors.
  • Developing and managing the budgets and data reporting for the respective contracts and customer services.
  • Leading the continuous improvement of City’s waste and recycling services in partnership with service delivery contractors and team members.

About you:
To be successful in this role, you will have a Tertiary qualification in a relevant field with significant experience in relation to contract management of service delivery type contracts.

Essential experience:

  • Demonstrated project and people leadership experience.
  • Preferably an understanding of the waste industry including relevant legislation.
  • Experience in a local government environment desirable.
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence.
  • Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City)
