About the role
In this role you will provide an effective and efficient planning advice to service and facilitate the assessment, review and issue of planning permits and approvals.
Work type: Permanent full time
Classification: Band 6 Commencing at $92,971 plus super
Key responsibilities include:
- Analyse applications to determine compliance with relevant legislation and ensure applications are dealt with in the prescribed time limits.
- Assist with the issue of Town Planning permits within the team to provide a coordinated responsive service delivery.
- Assist with the coordination of input from various government departments and the general public to meet deadlines as set.
- Represent the City of Greater Geelong in public forums, legal proceedings and appeal hearings.
- Prepare correspondence in relation to Council decisions and enquiries from the public.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in Town Planning, Urban Studies or similar related field and substantial experience in local government town planning.
Essential Experience:
- Substantial experience in local government town planning.
- A good understanding, practical knowledge and ability to interpret town planning legislation and practices and associated legislation to interpret their meaning
- Experience and willingness to mentor staff.
- Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
