About the role
We're looking for a technically skilled leader who can inspire a culture of excellence and collaboration. As the Platform Engineering Lead, you'll champion best practices, ensure high-quality deliverables, and lead modernisation initiatives in web development.
Work type: Full-time, Permanent
Classification: SPL $150,000 pa plus super
Key responsibilities include:
- Define and communicate a clear technical vision aligned with strategic goals.
- Lead, mentor, and support a high-performing, inclusive engineering team.
- Drive modern web development and legacy application modernisation efforts.
- Collaborate with product, architecture, and business teams to deliver value-driven solutions.
- Ensure high coding standards through regular code reviews and best practice adoption.
- Plan and manage departmental resources, risks, and initiatives in line with strategic objectives.
- Champion Agile, DevOps, and modern software engineering practices.
- Oversee cloud migration strategies and implementation of scalable, cost-efficient solutions.
- Lead innovation on the ServiceNow platform and integrate AI/ML into applications responsibly.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and ensure services meet business and customer needs.
About you
To be successful in the role, you will have a tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field in addition to significant experience in software engineering in a comparable organisation.
Essential Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams and delivering complex software engineering projects.
- Significant experience in AI/ML technologies and integrating them into applications.
- Strong expertise in legacy system modernisation and web development frameworks.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Java.
- In-depth knowledge of web development technologies, including modern .NET frameworks (e.g., Razor pages).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerisation (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of ServiceNow architecture and enterprise integrations.
Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a WWCC.
