Purpose:
The accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate financial management by performing daily reconciliations, processing payments, and maintaining financial records. The role will oversee month-end accounting tasks, prepare financial reports, and support compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Additionally, the role involves improving financial workflows, assisting with system and process improvements, and providing financial guidance to stakeholders, while protecting the business from financial risks and supporting audit processes.
Day to day you’ll be…
- Tracking and making payments to both internal and external stakeholders
- Perform daily reconciliations, including bank account, accounts payable and receivable
- Banking/treasury tasks including ad hoc invoice payments
- Month-end accounting including reconciliations, EOM checks and journal posting
- Tracking and processing internal transactions
- Expense claims
- Preparation of monthly Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet, including balance sheet reconciliations, review and clean up
- Provide guidance and resolve queries related to incentive model
- Ensure compliance with company policies, relevant accounting standards and FCL minimum standards for financial systems and processes
- Constantly look to improve efficiencies within finance workflow processes
- Assist with the implementation of systems and process improvement initiatives
- Protect our business by monitoring and reviewing at risk items such as, outstanding cash, audit ledgers, debit ledgers and unreconciled transactions
- Helping stakeholders including Travel Managers and Event Managers with their financial queries.
- Assisting with audit workpaper compilation and queries
We’d love to hear from you if you have…
- Ability to work independently and part of a team
- At least 2 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or similar
- Completed Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or similar or studying towards
- CPA or CA Qualified highly desirable
