Flight Centre Travel Group Americas is a dynamic, highly profitable division within the group with significant sales growth year over year. The collection specialist for our Corporate Central Finance team will support our Corporate Brands – FCM, Corporate Traveler and Stage and Screen.
 
This hands‐on role will contribute to the successful outcomes of the team through well developed and maintained working relationships with the internal and external stakeholders, Internal audit, facilitating system integration requirements and month end financial controls and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Onshore:
  • Notify debtors by letter, email, or telephone call of upcoming or outstanding invoices
  • Ensuring payments are on track to be paid within the agreed terms
  • Assisting the team with researching, analyzing, and resolving client deductions and unapplied credits
  • Managing and collecting debts from company debtors.
  • Setting up the terms of credit for clients.
  • Initiate/support action against debtors who evade or refuse repayment according to the terms and conditions
  • Keeping detailed records of collection activities and conversations (D365)
  • Providing customer service regarding collection issues, process and review account adjustments, process refunds, handle bad debt write offs, and account settlements
  • Negotiating payment plans.
  • Reply promptly to client questions and concerns received by voicemail or via written
  • communication
  • Processing invoice adjustments.
  • Preparing reports for the commercial managers and business leaders across Canada and USA.
  • Liaising with customers success managers and the sales team.
  • Process irreconcilable debts, as in the case of bankruptcy, to be written off and archived
  • Generate and distribute month end reports to Senior Management
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, relevant accounting standards and FCTG minimum standards for financial systems and processes
  • Take on other duties as assigned
Offshore:
  • Customer Receipt allocations
  • Unallocated receipt journals
  • Onshore assistance for C&C Queries

Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics
  • Experience in Travel Industry
  • Experience working with outsource operations
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills
  • 3 years+ senior finance experience
  • Uphold a culture of strong financial compliance & control
  • Focus on optimization of mid office processes and efficiencies
  • Understand all drivers of mid office system reconciliations.
  • Support the internal audit function for the Corporate brands
  • Perform various month end checks and reviews
  • Maintain month end reporting deadlines across all businesses
  • Preparation of relevant management reporting
  • Support, motivate and assist fellow team members and staff reports
  • Support effective 1 on 1’s for C&C team members, meetings and information sharing
  • Conduct training sessions where necessary for finance and operations
  • Demonstrates a belief in FCL philosophies and values
  • Strong customer focus, a high level of commercial acumen and professionalism
  • Hunger and desire to continuously search for and find opportunities to improve efficiencies within finance
  • Develop financial reporting appropriate to analyze trends and opportunities in conjunction with FP&A team for debtor related transactions

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $75,000- $82,000. Base salary is dependent on relevant factors, including experience, geographic location, and job requirements.
