About the Opportunity 

 

Responsible for leading and growing the Moneywise Financial Wellbeing and Financial Services offers globally for FCTG. This role will develop and implement growth strategy for Moneywise across all FCTG employees, to ensure long term success of businesses and optimisation of the opportunities available. This will require an in-depth understanding of the financial services industry, financial wellbeing, and of the regulatory changes and innovation occurring now and on the horizon. Success relates to strengthening FCTG employees’ financial wellbeing, whilst being commercially responsible (including evaluating opportunities to offer services to external companies) and delivering agreed KPIs and outcomes. This individual will oversee the external relationships with both suppliers and customers to deliver mutual long-term benefit and will lead a growing global team. In addition, this role is accountable for working with the other “Wises” to offer integrated employee benefits on a global basis. This role can be based in South Bank, QLD, Melbourne, VIC or Sydney, NSW.

 

 

In this role you will

 

Financial Services and Wellbeing Strategy

  • Development of cohesive global strategy for Moneywise with realistic
    targets and implementation plans supported by ongoing review and challenge
  • Excellent, trusted relationship with operational leaders to develop employee financial well being
  • Assist with FCTG financial services initiatives as appropriate – including initiation and development of opportunities
  • Evaluation of opportunities to offer Moneywise services outside FCTG
  • Consider the “big picture”, long term opportunities and risks and ensure appropriate proactive responses
  • Ensure Moneywise supports all aspects of the FCTG operational businesses in achieving relevant objectives for their employees
  • Global technical expert on all financial services issues to be the recognised source of advice for senior management and the Board
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis as required to support value-add decision
    making, including making recommendations and presentations to senior management

 

Leadership

  • Clear communication of vision, purpose and plans to all stakeholders including Moneywise teams
  • Create and continuous assessment of Moneywise structure and roles to ensure fit for purpose
  • Develop and focus on Moneywise leadership team to ensure they are achieving Brightness of Future
  • Support and foster team environment and culture
  • Be the cultural champion for Moneywise ensuring achievement culture embedded across the business and ensuring all employees are proud to work for Moneywise
  • Be a role model to all employees with an open, honest and collaborative manner
  • Understand the importance of egalitarianism


Business Operational Management

  • Detailed and comprehensive understanding of the Moneywise business
    model and commercial drivers, including risk factors across all time horizons
  • Responsible for the P&L globally
  • Responsible for delivery of other Moneywise KPIs (eg Customer Satisfaction and Interactions)
  • Accountable to operational leadership teams for delivery of results
  • Manage balance sheet risks and exposures
  • Have oversight of effective budgeting and reporting framework to ensure transparent results and forecasts and fostering a “no-surprises” culture


Supplier Management

  •  Manage external suppliers for long term benefit of Moneywise and FCTG (including tender processes as required)
  • Develop long term trusted relationships to allow Moneywise and FCTG to be perceived as a partner of choice


Project Management and Execution support

  • Implement complex change initiatives on time and on budget
  • Ensure appropriate involvement from local businesses whilst driving global projects
  • Work with virtual teams and in accordance with overseas time zones including ability to commit to ad-hoc overseas travel

 

Innovation

  • Monitor industry developments, trends and key players and research opportunities to develop new initiatives, provide advice and implement solutions
  • Actively challenge accepted operational wisdom across Moneywise and FCTG
  • Understand operational priorities and focus to develop innovative solutions that drive improvements and efficiencies
  • Work with global teams and businesses to identify opportunities and leverage “one best way”


Control and Compliance Focus

  • Understand financial services regulatory environment and associated checks and controls required with explicit ownership and focus to ensure no breaches
  • Manage regulatory requirements and compliance reporting obligations
  • Maintain strict control environment with appropriate segregation of duties
  • Ensure process and procedures minimise risk of loss to Moneywise, FCTG and all stakeholders and actively identify areas of risk to be mitigated

 

 

You will do well in this role if you have: 

 

  • A minimum of 5-7+ years in a General Manager position or similar
  • Deep understanding of the financial services industry in Australia and globally
  • Solid commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and P&L accountability
  • Proven ability to lead global teams, drive business performance, and execute strategic goals
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels
  • Tertiary level qualification in Financial Planning, Business or related field
