As the new Senior Accountant in Leisure Finance, you will take charge of the end-to-end financial accounting for a portfolio of our Leisure operations, including General Ledger Close Process management, monthly reporting, and supporting EOFY and Half-Year audit deliverables to our Group Reporting Team.

You will be responsible for accounting for cash, debtors, creditors, revenue recognition, wages, expenses, and management fees. The role requires strong financial control, diligence, proactive problem solving, customer and teamwork skills, time management, and adaptability.

 

 

 

Your day-to-day tasks:

  • Manage and complete the month-end General Ledger close processes for an assign Leisure portfolio(s)
  • Review of Balance Sheet Reconciliations and reporting across the Leisure business
  • Timely and accurate preparation of monthly Profit and Loss and Balance
  • Sheet reviews, including commentary and analysis
  • Support the Group Financial Reporting team with EOFY and Half-Year external audits, by delivering on the prescribed audit requirements.
  • Protect our business by monitoring and reviewing at risk items
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, relevant accounting standards and FCL minimum standards for financial systems and processes
  • Constantly look to improve efficiencies within finance workflow processes
  • Assist with special projects and the implementation of systems and process improvement initiatives as they arise
  • Support the Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) way, adopting our FCTG Philosophies to foster and develop our extraordinary culture across all teams

Your experience and skillset: 

  • 3-5+ years’ experience with/in ASX listed financial reporting teams
  • Meticulous eye for detail and curiosity to explore
  • High degree of flexibility and ability to deal with change, growth and pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Interpersonal and communication skills with ability to develop relationships at all levels
  • Team player who can motivate teams to excel, adopting our FCTG values
  • External Audit experience preferable (but not essential)
  • Advanced excel skills, including modeling, use of power Automate and/or Power BI.
  • Understanding of our FCTG Philosophies to support our extraordinary culture
  • CA/CPA qualified
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or similar
