Finance Executive – Transactional Finance (Japanese Language Proficiency)

Role Overview

The Finance Executive will serve as a key process owner for the assigned Business Unit (BU), fostering strong partnerships with Operations and Management teams. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate transactional finance operations, accounting, reconciliations, and maintaining the integrity of financial results.

As an Individual Contributor, the position demands strong analytical capabilities, hands-on accounting expertise, and effective collaboration with both onshore and offshore stakeholders, including Japanese-speaking counterparts.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

1. Financial Operations & Month-End Close

• Execute and manage month-end closing activities with precision, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and timelines.
• Perform accounting, reconciliation, and consolidation of transactional finance activities across AP, AR, and R2R processes.
• Validate, process, and post journal entries accurately to support timely closure.
• Guarantee the integrity and accuracy of monthly financial results for the assigned BU.

 

2. Transaction Processing & Controls

• Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all daily financial transactions.
• Process, upload, and submit invoices in adherence to internal controls and deadlines.
• Update internal and external financial systems with accurate and timely financial data.
• Ensure all trading processes (AP, AR, reconciliations) are executed efficiently and in compliance with policies.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3. Analysis & Value Addition

• Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify variances, trends, and potential issues.
• Address ad-hoc analysis requests and resolve business-critical problems during the month.
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and quality enhancements.
• Develop and deliver insightful reports that add value to stakeholders and support decision-making.

 

 

4. Reporting & Stakeholder Management

• Prepare accurate, timely, and business-relevant monthly management and customer-specific reports.
• Collaborate closely with onshore senior finance and operations teams, demonstrating strong communication and articulation skills.
• Coordinate effectively with offshore teams to ensure seamless execution of responsibilities.
• Utilize Japanese language proficiency for communication, coordination, and documentation as required.

 

5. Team Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing

• Work collaboratively with team members across NCR and offshore locations to share best practices.
• Support training and mentoring initiatives to enhance team capability and output quality.
• Actively contribute to continuous improvement projects within the finance function.

Qualifications & Experience

 

• Graduate / Postgraduate in Commerce or CA (Inter) / equivalent professional finance qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in an MNC or captive unit, preferably in R2R, month-end closing, and reconciliations.
• Hands-on experience in transactional finance operations (AP/AR) is essential.
• Familiarity with financial systems such as TINA and Microsoft Dynamics D365 is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in MS Excel and other financial tools.
• Flexibility to work in shifts (excluding night shifts).
